This guide will show the steps to set up a Zakat amount to be deducted during payroll processing.



Zakat is an Islamic obligatory contribution, similar to a form of charitable tax, which some employees may request to deduct directly from their monthly salary. In AutoCount HRMS, Zakat deductions are set up manually for each employee so that the amount will be reflected in the payroll process.


Steps to set up Zakat Deduction:

1. Go to Payroll > Employee Maintenance.



2. Select and edit the employee profile. 




3. Under Statutory Requirement > Others, look for the Zakat Amount box.



4. Enter the monthly Zakat amount to be deducted and click Save.




5. During Payroll processing, the zakat amount will appear automatically in the Deduction section.




Note:

  • Zakat deduction is optional and only applies to employees who request it.

  • The system does not calculate Zakat automatically; you must enter the agreed monthly amount 
    manually.
