Why is the next number for my new document incorrect? I set the next number to 25, but when I create a new document it still shows 1?
Answer:
This happens because the document format is using Each month with different running set number, but the Next Number you updated (25) was saved under the default continuous numbering, not the monthly format.
When Each month with different running set number is enabled, each month has its own “Next Number”.
1) Go to the Monthly Numbering Format setting.
2) Check the Next Number for the current month.
- For example, if the current month is October and the next number should be 25, enter 25 under “Oct”.
3) Click Save.
After updating, create a new document and confirm the document number now follows the correct monthly sequence.
